What’s the difference between food processors, smoothie makers and juicers?

I would like to make my own vegetable and fruit smoothies, soups and other blended food but I’m confused which small appliance to buy. They all seem to do the same thing but how come they’re called differently? What do you think I should get?

Food Processor: chops, grates food. Using different blades you can do different preps.

Blender: Chops, grates, crushes ice, & makes food much finer to the point of like a smoothie

Smoothie Makers: are usually not as powerful as a good Blender. They are much more limited in there uses that either a food Processor or Blender

Juicer: Extracts & separates the pulp of the fruit or veggie from the juice.

I own a Blender with a small food processor attachement(Hamilton Beech) & a Juicer(Jack LaLanne). I find the 2 are what I need for my healthy diet & lifetstyle. Both are moderately priced & I am pleased with the work they do.
My daughter owns a Vitamix Blender & a Champion Juicer & luvs them both. They are much more upscale than I have.
I hope this was helpful.

Smoothie makers are made to grind up ice as well as the liquid.

Juicers are designed to remove pulp from fruits and vegetable but will not grind ice.

Food processors chop and mince but take a long time to liquify.

I make smoothies in a blender. A food processer is mainly used for chopping/mixing and juicers are one use appliances. Go with a good blender.

I don’t think you are looking for a food processor.. they mostly chop or shred.. You are looking for a good blender.. The BEST is the vitamix.. it is a blender so powerful that it can make HOT soup..it can make bread dough.. make peanut butter, and crush ice like nobody’s buisness.. I think they’re also around $500.. but worth it, if you can.

But just look for a reeally good blender..

Juicer-designed to get the "juice" out of veggies and fruits
    Food processor-can chop, blend, etc
Smoothie maker-they same as a blender but with a spout on the front (basically a way for companies to make more money)
I would get a blender or food processor…blenders tend to be cheaper unless you get a small food processor.
I make smoothies everyday and I use the Magic Bullet, it great because it’s fast and you can drink right out of the cup you used to blend it.
