How many kitchen appliances do you own?
Which one do you use the most?
Why did basport get a thumbs up?
A washer and Dryer are not kitchen appliances.

Assuming you mean small appliances…I say too darn many! At one time we would buy every one that came along; including a hot dogger, pizza maker, elec. carving knife, elec. wok, toaster oven, George Forman grill # 1, 2,3 and 4. Most have been garaged saled (sold) or are stored in the garage. Most used; coffee maker, microwave, blender and mini food processor. OK?

How to compare the nutrition between infant milk and regular milk?

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

I have a 13-month daughter and I’d like to give her a regular milk, but I don’t know how to compare the nutrition. Can somebody tell me the easiest way to do that and also if possible pls mention the milk brand?

My daughter’s pediatrician has said that from 12 months to four years a child should have Whole milk (if the child still isn’t breastfed)… and after four years old that they can have 2%.

Where can I buy personal orange juicers / sippers / straws?

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

Do you remember the plastic small straw type things that you stick into a fresh orange and use to suck the juice out? I used them all the time as a kid but now I want to find a place to buy some for home (and for friends and family)…. can anyone help? I would be great if you knew a manufacture or retailer.

I need new appliances, any suggestions for the best brand?

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

I am buying a house, and all of the appliances are old, and need to be replaced. Does anyone have any suggestions for the best brand to buy?

Everyone will have good and bad stories for their particular brand but I have had good luck with Kenmore and Frigidare. Many of these brands are made by the same company with different names. I also like to see customer feedback on the item I am considering.

Sears.com still is the top retailer for appliances, and each one has a section for customer feedback.

Consumerreports.org also rates products independently. It does cost to have full access but it is well worth it if you are looking at buying just about anything. Many times however, they have free reports particularly on appliances. The cool thing is they are non-profit and when they test a product, they go in anonymously to a store, negotiate a deal and take it to the lab to test it. So it’s not like they are getting sent a hand picked model that is guaranteed to perform well.

Now go get ‘em!

Which juicers is better than the Jack Lelanne power juicer?

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

The Jack Lelanne juicer is getting wonderful reviews but its very pricey, what others are as effective, if not better?

None are as effective or better.
Have you seen old Jack? He’s in his nineties and can kick the crap out of you and me together! At 70 Jack fought strong winds and currents as he swam 1.5 miles while towing 70 boats with 70 people from the Queen’s Way Bridge in the Long Beach Harbor to the Queen Mary, while shackled & handcuffed!
Whatever it is that is making him go is something we should all have.
